How to Choose a Solar Panel?

  • The open circuit voltage of the solar panel cannot exceed the maximum voltage range of the controller.
  • The operating voltage of the solar panel is within the MPPT voltage range of the controller.
  • The solar panel power is slightly greater than the pump power, generally 1.3-1.5 times.

For Example

Solar Panel Rated power: 300W | Solar Panel Open-circuit Voltage: 45Voc

  • Total solar panel power required: 11 kW x 1.3 = 14.3 kW
  • Total number of solar panels: 14.3 kW ÷ 300 W ≈ 48 pcs
  • Voc range: 380V AC x 1.414 ÷ 0.81 = 663.3 V DC
  • Number of panels in a string: 663.3 V DC ÷ 45 Voc ≈ 15-16 pcs
